Hill County Indigent Health Care

Eligibility Criteria:

Residence - The applicant must live in Hill County and must intend to maintain
their residency in Hill County.

Household - A CIHCP household is a person living alone or two or more persons
living together where legal responsibility for support exists (ie. married couple,
parent / legal guardian and child, etc.) excluding a disqualified person. A
disqualified person is one who receives or is categorically eligible to receive
Medicaid.

Resources - A household is eligible if the total countable resources (property,
livestock, funds in banks, vehicles, etc.) do not exceed $2000. If a household has
a disabled or aged person that meets relationship requirements, resources cannot
exceed $3000.

Medical Need - Applicant must have a medical necessity to obtain services.

Income - The applicants monthly net income must not exceed 21% of the Federal
Poverty Guidelines.

Application for Health Care Assistance

Basic Health Care:

Medical attention through medical clinics and hospitals.

Annual Physical Examinations - Examinations provided once per calendar year by
a physician or physician assistant. Associated testing can be covered with a
physician referral.

Medical Screening - Services include blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol
screening.

Laboratory and X-Rays are professional and technical services provided and
ordered under the personal supervision of a physician in a setting other than a
hospital (inpatient or outpatient).

Cancer patients, Hill County IHC will only cover x-rays and blood work.

Prescriptions - This service provides up to three (3) prescription drugs per month.
Drugs must be prescribed by a physician or other practitioner within the scope of
practice under law. Prescriptions cannot be any form of pain medication, mood
stabilizers or mental health medications.

Inpatient hospital services must be medically necessary and provided in an acute
care hospital to hospital inpatients, by or under the direction of a physician and for
the care and treatment of patients.

Outpatient hospital services must be medically necessary and provided in an acute
care hospital to hospital outpatients, by or under the direction of a physician.

 


Hill County Indigent Burial

Eligibility Criteria:

The deceased party must have passed away in Hill County, TX.

Hill County Indigent Burial must be notified within three (3) business days of the
date of death.

Applicant must be the legal next of kin. If there is no legal next of kin a close
friend or funeral home may apply for benefits on behalf of the deceased party.

It is the legal requirement of Hill County, TX to offer any deceased individuals that
services have been applied and are approved for to an approved Anatomical
Donation facility before cremation at Hill County's expense. If the Anatomical
Donation is rejected, Hill County will cremate the remains.

All approved deceased individuals will be cremated, with cremated remains
returned to the legal next of kin. If no legal next of kin, cremated remains will
remain in the custody of Hill County. No burial is approved by Hill County
Indigent Burial unless there is a documented religious restriction that requires the
individual to be buried.
